Promised Land State Park

Who We Are

Promised Land State Park as we know it today was built mainly by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. Something special we have to honor them is our CCC Masker Museum, with is staffed by volunteers during the summer season.

We have 2 lakes, a large day-use area with swimming, miles of scenic trails, a native garden, and 7 campgrounds.  We also have the largest number of privately owned cabins through our Camp Lease program of any PA State Park. We are a destination location for camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and picnicking for people far and near.  We have many opportunities to volunteer with the park, including some regularly scheduled volunteer-run programs such as Art in the Park and Trail Days, as well as on-your-own opportunities.

With 7 campgrounds we are always looking for friendly faces to be camp hosts for dedicated stretches of time.
