Whipple Dam State Park
Nestled at the base of Greenlee Mountain, Whipple Dam State Park is a beautiful spot for a picnic at a historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) pavilion or a dip in the lake at the swimming beach. A hike on Whipple Lake Trail travels through forests and scenic wetlands near Laurel Run and provides abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. The 17-acre Whipple Lake is great for canoeing, kayaking, and electric -powered motorboating.
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) protects and enhances the state’s natural, recreational, and cultural resources for current and future generations. We manage state parks and forests, support community recreation and conservation initiatives, provide science-based expertise on Pennsylvania’s ecological health, and promote outdoor experiences that enrich the lives of all residents and visitors.
