Opportunities From: Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

Volunteer: Maple Syrup - Behind the Scenes

Assist with the prep, sap collection, wood carrying, fire stoking, boiling down, filtering, finishing, bottling, & more related to producing maple syrup. Learn how to produce syrup from tree to table, working behind the scenes in concert with trained staff and other volunteers. Work hours and days will vary greatly based on the forecast, sap runs, and timing related to outreach efforts. The range of timing of mid-Feb to the end of March typically is the longest possible season, but usually it's one or two 1/2 days a week for most of a 3- or 4-week season. Let's see what this year brings!

If there is an opening, you will be contacted and typically meet with park staff on a Teams video call or by phone to be sure this opportunity is a good fit, review your qualifications, and provide answers to any questions you might have.
