Volunteer: Cavity Nesting Volunteers

Join a fun-loving group focused mainly on Purple Martin Nest Monitoring. There are several locations throughout the park and a location will be assigned to you. This group will also cover assisting the park educator with Bluebird Box Monitoring. The season typically goes from March to September. Hours are usually between 10 AM and 1 PM but can vary. Volunteer: Frog Bit Pull

Join Park Staff and partner agencies to help get rid of European Frogbit. This aquatic invasive is starting to get a foothold on our lake and needs removed.  Canoes will be provided but can bring your own kayak/canoe. Registration is required by emailing Jared McGary at jamcgary@pa.gov.

Volunteer: Great Pymatuning Shoreline Clean up and Volunteer Workday

Would you like to come out and help get the park ready for another busy summer season?  If so, come join us on Saturday May 2nd beginning at Shelter 4 at 730am.  Projects may include things like litter clean up, invasive plant removal, light painting/staining, tree planting (if trees are available) as well as other basic maintenance tasks. 

All hand tools, gloves, trash bags and safety vests will be provided.  Please wear appropriate clothing such as shoes and long pants and bring sunblock, bug spray and water.  

Pre-registration is required by calling the park office at 724 932 3141.  If you need an accommodation, please let us know when you register.

Free camping in Jamestown Campground Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd is available for all registered volunteers.  Sites will be issued upon registration with the park office.

Lunch will be provided By the Pymatuning Lake Association Saturday May 2nd at approximately 12pm.

Pymatuning State Park has three campgrounds, all in need of campground hosts. A campground host is a volunteer that stays on site for at least two weeks at a time, at no charge, and preforms a variety of tasks.  Primarily this person is a steward of the campground and of the park.  They answer questions about the campground and the park, give directions and even make recommendations of what to do in the local community.  Campground hosts also preform light cleaning duties in the restrooms, litter pick up in the campground as well as other minor tasks as needed.
