Lend a Hand for Our Trails!
July Trail Maintenance Day Calling all hikers, bikers, and outdoor lovers! Our 16-mile trail system here at Shawnee State Park keeps us connected to the beautiful landscapes around Shawnee Lake, and it takes a community to keep them looking their best. We are hosting our next Trail Maintenance Event, and we would love for you to join our crew! Whether you are a seasoned trail volunteer or just looking for a meaningful way to give back to your local park, your time and energy will make a direct impact.
When: Tuesday, July 14th, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM -11:30AM
Meeting Location: White Barn @ Region 3 Headquarters.
What we'll be doing: Clearing overgrowth and trimming back corridors on our multi-use paths. Improving trail treadways and clearing drainage to prevent erosion.
What to bring & wear: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes, or hiking boots Long pants and work gloves A water bottle to stay hydrated We will provide the necessary tools, safety gear, and instruction. Come out, enjoy some fresh air, meet fellow trail enthusiasts, and help us keep Shawnee State Park's trail system beautiful!
