Volunteer: Rustic Campground Host CandidateThose interested in hosting in Bald Eagle State Park's Rustic Campground should apply here. Bald Eagle SP is a popular hosting park, so please be aware we can't accept all applicants. Once you apply, you will be entered onto a waitlist managed by the park's host coordinator. If there is an opening, you will be contacted and typically meet with park staff on a Teams video call or by phone to be sure this opportunity is a good fit, review your qualifications, and provide answers to any questions you might have. Rustic Campground Hosts receive free camping, a UTV (for campground use only), a gas ration (for generator and UTV only), sewer hook-up, and water hook-up for the duration of their stay as a campground host. The host site does not have an electric hook-up and a generator is NOT provided. Host duties include, but are not limited to: distributing and collecting camping permits for ~70 campsitesmaintaining campsite fire ringsacting as a liaison for park staff and Rustic Campground campersbeing a point of contact for camper questions and concernsNot required, but welcomed assistance with miscellaneous tasks (ex. weed-eating, maintaining bulletin boards, keeping trails open in the campground, changing empty toilet paper, etc.)Hosts need to be accessible to help campers during key hours--especially weekends and evenings.
