Volunteer: Campground Host

Those interested in hosting in Blue Knob State Park's Campground should apply here.  Please be aware we can't accept all applicants. Once you apply, you will be entered onto a waitlist managed by the park's host coordinator. If there is an opening, you will be contacted and typically meet with park staff on a Teams video call, in-person, or by phone to be sure this opportunity is a good fit, review your qualifications, and provide answers to any questions you might have. Campground Hosts receive free camping on an electric host site (a pet friendly or non-pet-friendly site is available to choose from), and a park radio for the duration of their stay as a campground host. A UTV (for campground use only) is available to use.

Modern Campground. Host duties include, but are not limited to:

Distributing and collecting camping permits for ~50 campsites
Maintaining campsite fire rings
Acting as a liaison for park staff and campers
Being a point of contact for camper questions and concerns
Not required, but welcomed assistance with miscellaneous tasks (ex. weed-eating, maintaining bulletin boards, Keeping trails open, changing empty toilet paper, etc.)
Hosts need to be available to help campers during key hours--especially weekends and evenings. All hosts must Complete ALL clearances and submit them to the park to be considered for the opportunity.
