Volunteers need to stuff eggs prior to event and assist with day-of activities

The Outpost, campground store run by the FOCSP, needs attendants to help with firewood and retail sales to campers.

Experience Codorus Outdoors (ECO) is a large family-oriented fundraising event held 2 days in June each year.  Assistance is need with set-up, day of event, and tear-down.

One of the largest fundraisers for the park is selling firewood to campers.  We need assistance cutting, splitting and stacking firewood.

Codorus Trick-or-Treat is a large fundraising event held 2 nights in October each year.  Assistance is needed with set-up, day of the event, and tear down.

If you are bringing a group, every member of the group must be registered as a Conservation Volunteer on this site.  If your group includes minors (i.e. scout groups) they will need to have a parent's signature prior to the event - paper copies are available by emailing NRCodorusEEPrograms@pa.gov.

Occasionally we need assistance with on-going research within our American Chestnut orchards.  This may include harvesting nuts, measuring, mowing, cutting, or pruning trees. 

Paddle for the Park is a kayaking fundraising event held in July.  Assistance the day of the event with registration and activities is needed. 

Art in the Park is a fundraiser held several days throughout the year.  Assistance is needed with set-up and tear down.  Also, if you are an artist, there is the opportunity to lead visitors through a painting of the park. 

Help us remove the invasive plants around the park!  This crew meets periodically throughout the year to remove (pruning, cutting, lopping) species such as Japanese Honeysuckle, Callery Pear, and Oriental Bittersweet from various areas of the park.

Volunteers are needed to help gather sap, cook it down, and bottle syrup.  Sap collection usually requires about 2 hours, once a week.  Syrup is cooked twice a week - usually from 8AM-3PM. There are many opportunities for various abilities.

Codorus has over 12 miles of equestrian trails within the park.  Volunteers are needed to help maintain the trails by trimming and pruning, as well as larger projects. 

Codorus is home to a 54-hole disc golf course.  Volunteers are needed to assist with trimming and maintaining the course.

Codorus maintains over 9 miles of mountain bike trails.  Volunteers are needed to help trim, prune, rake and remove obstacles. 

Our native plant gardens at the park office are always in need of weeding and trimming.  Volunteers can help at their leisure when available. 

Codorus provides nest boxes for many birds, including bluebirds, tree swallows and purple martins.  Throughout the year we monitor what is happening inside those boxes, contributing to a national database of information.  Volunteers are needed to inspect boxes weekly, April-October.  Generally,lly a volunteerunteer is given 10-20 boxes in a small area (less than a 1-milemile walk), which typically takes about 1 hour/week to monitor. 

Wildlife Watchers on the Water volunteers assist with evening, 1.5 hour programs leading visitors in guided kayak tours of Lake Marburg. These tours typically occur weekly from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  If you enjoy kayaking and viewing wildlife, this is a great way to share that passion with others. 

Assistance is always needed with cleaning up the park. This is a great way to get outdoors and help the park! Litter pickers and trash bags may be available while volunteering 

Our campground hosts enjoy 2-week sessions in the campground assisting others.  Duties include interacting with campers and answering questions as well as tidying up sites before new visitors arrive. 

Codorus State Park has 2 main hiking trails that need trimmed and maintained throughout the season.  Equipment (loppersrs, pruners, etc.) may be available for use while volunteering.
