Volunteer: Volunteer Work Day: Invasive Removal-Vosburg Neck State ParkJoin park staff and the Sierra Club as we remove invasive species in the day-use area. We will be targeting mile-a-minute and stilt grass, but may find other plants to tackle along the way. You can bring your own work gloves, but there will be some on hand. Trash bags will be provided. We recommend long pants and sleeves since we may be in brushy areas and could encounter thorns and ticks. Since this is a joint event, we ask that you register with the Sierra Club as well! Volunteer: Volunteer Work Day: Tree Tubes Spring Cleaning-Vosburg Neck State ParkWe will be going through some areas in the park that have old tree tubes that needs to be cleaned up. Areas are muddy and overgrown, so participants should dress in clothing that can get dirty and protects skin, as well as shoes that are okay to get muddy or wet. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves. Bug spray will be offered. There may also be opportunity to work on mulching around some of our recent tree tube plantings. Mulch will need to be transported from a pile via wheelbarrow and added around the base of the plantings. Tools will be provided by the park. We will meet by Riverside Barn to sign in and go over tasks. Location: Vosburg Neck State Park We will be going through some areas in the park that have old tree tubes that needs to be cleaned up.
