Opportunities From: Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

Come volunteer to help with a variety of tasks to get the park ready for the season! Tasks include trail trimming and cleaning, trash pick-up, sign painting, building picnic tables, splitting wood and many more. 

It's our Second-Annual Earth Day Celebration! Come on out to the Marina to meet our volunteers, learn about projects and opportunities, and participate in activities and demonstrations--including solar observation with the Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association!

Want to jump in and help on the day? Sign up for a litter pickup! This cleanup will be going on throughout the time of the expo, so you can help out for a few minutes or for the whole morning!

Litter pickup will begin at the Marina Visitor Center. See Arlo at Friends of Nockamixon State Park table to check in and receive safety briefing, location assignment, bags, high-vis vest, and gloves. A limited number of trash grabbers will be available, or bring your own.

Many of the volunteer groups that make our park great will be here all morning with information on current projects and volunteer opportunities, as well as live demonstrations and activities! Groups include:

Park cleanup in honor of Earth Day.  (Stick and litter cleanup on trails and day use area.)

Assist park staff with trail improvements and beautification.

Join us in tidying up the park with a volunteer clean-up day!    

There will be a variety of projects suitable for all age groups, so bring out the entire family! Projects will include, but are not limited to, painting, landscaping, and invasives removal. Please bring clothes you can get dirty, work gloves if possible and appropriate footwear.  

After a morning of volunteering, participants are invited to a grilled lunch courtesy of the Friends of Pine Grove  Furnace. Volunteers staying for lunch are welcome to bring a covered dish to share.

Join us for our annual Woodsy Owl cleanup day. We offer volunteers who participate in the cleanup free camping Friday & Saturday nights.

The group assignments and registrations for the workday starts at 8:30 AM in the Environmental Education Classroom and the workday starts at 9 AM in front of the park office and finishes at 1:00 PM with our lunch provided by the "Friends of Parker Dam".

Celebrate Earth Week by giving back to Ravensburg State Park to keep the park healthy and beautiful! Volunteers and park staff will be picking up the litter that accumulated over the past year. Gloves, trash bags, vests, and litter grabbers will be provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes! 

Meeting Location: Parking lot (second lot) north of the Playfield

Directions: After entering the park, turn right and follow the road about 0.25 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.

Join us in welcoming spring to Nescopeck by cleaning up the park!

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to help us improve the park by helping with a project of their choice. Projects include litter clean-up, invasive species removal, and working in the Nature Discovery Area on a variety of tasks like retrieving mud, cleaning the shed, planting a sensory garden, mulching and weeding.

Please register so we can plan for equipment needs.

Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the importance of protecting Earth’s natural resources for future generations. Let’s take part by getting directly involved, even if it’s just for one day a year.

Locust Lake State Park is seeking volunteers to help maintain its beautiful natural resources by participating in a trash pickup in celebration of Earth Day. Volunteers may participate individually or as part of a group, and you can choose a schedule that works best for you.

Trash bags are available at the Tuscarora State Park office, and litter pickers may be borrowed based on availability. Once trash is collected, bagged litter may be left in a designated area for staff pickup, please be sure to notify the park office.

Let’s work together to ensure this amazing resource remains available for generations to come.
