Those interested in hosting in Bald Eagle State Park's Modern Campground should apply here. Bald Eagle SP is a popular hosting park, so please be aware we can't accept all applicants. Once you apply, you will be entered onto a waitlist managed by the park's host coordinator. If there is an opening, you will be contacted and typically meet with park staff on a Teams video call, in-person, or by phone to be sure this opportunity is a good fit, review your qualifications, and provide answers to any questions you might have. Modern Campground Hosts receive free camping on a full-hook-up/30 AMP host site, a UTV (for campground use only), and a park radio for the duration of their stay as a campground host. Hosts that have pets are ONLY eligible to host on the Sycamore Loop in the
Modern Campground. Host duties include, but are not limited to:
- distributing and collecting camping permits for ~60 campsites
- maintaining campsite fire rings
- acting as a liaison for park staff and campers
- being a point of contact for camper questions and concerns
- Not required, but welcomed assistance with miscellaneous tasks (ex. weed-eating, maintaining bulletin boards, keeping trails open, changing empty toilet paper, etc.)
Hosts need to be available to help campers during key hours--especially weekends and evenings. All hosts must complete child clearances and submit them to the park to be considered for the opportunity.
To speak to the campground host volunteer coordinator, Ty Moon, about this position or clearances, please call the Main Park Office at 814-625-2775 and press 5 to be routed to the Front Desk Staff.
