Cavity Nest Box Monitor (copy)

This opportunity would be responsible for monitoring the cavity nest boxes in our cavity nest trails program. This would require a weekly visit to the boxes to check for activity of cavity nesters, record information about the inhabitants of the box, species, number of eggs and hatchlings, as well as other data to fill out a form. The monitor will report the information to the park cavity nest coordinator for reporting at the end of the season. The weekly visits should begin before nesting season in late March or early April with an inspection of the boxes and end after all bird activity has ceased at the end of summer. This also includes reporting or fixing issues with the boxes and cleaning out the boxes at the end of the season. The hours and days are flexible to fit the monitor's availability.
